Why we designed and built Ieum
The insecure data systems of mainstream messengers and the reality of major tech giants holding sovereignty over our private chat data became a huge shock to us.
We watched helplessly as Terms of Services were unilaterally updated—allowing our private, daily conversations to be used as mere "fuel" to train massive corporate AI models simply because the app was "free." We concluded that we can no longer trust giant corporate servers with our assets and privacy.
That is why we created Ieum. We combined true P2P communication that instantly destroys data rather than storing it centrally, with Local (On-Device) AI technology that operates completely offline. We built an impenetrable fortress that empowers users to perfectly control and defend their own data from big tech.
